Landrover v the rest

After being involved in numerous posts regarding mog v landrover v hi lux etc I have come to the following conclusion.

For me and my work that earns me my living the landrover is perfect, as much as I think mogs are cool they just wouldn't be any good for me. I know skyhuck and mr Blair and others swear by them but that's there operation not mine. When posting comments on landrovers I am offering my opinion and my experience as to how good I find them. If my customer base and work allowed I would consider a mog, as it is I find the landy the perfect link between the two. I had a navarra for a while before I got a landrover and it was great for cruising on the m way but it's towing weight and height for off road work limited its use. Each to their own or whatever floats your boat. At the end of the day it's wrong to say x is better than y as they suit different needs.:)

The vehicle suits the job. If mobs work for your business then fair enough if the Landry is better fine, if a hi lux works thats fine.

You run what bests suits the work you do, I'm sure if I worked in a office I would have a car of some sort.

just out of interest, the new Defenders being made just now, where are the engines from? is it a modified Freelander 2 engine? wherever it comes from how is the 2.2 working out for people?

We have a 60 plate defender, it's running the 140hp 2.4tdci transit engine. Sounds like one too. Pulls well, fuel economy isn't brilliant, lucky to get mid 20s mpg. Not had any issues with it.
