Any musicians in the house?

Just wondered if anyone here plays any instruments either in bands or just for leisure :001_smile:

I played trumpet from the age of 5 until I was 17 and have sat on various seats from solo down to fourth in various jazz, brass bands and orchestras. I got a brace fitted and it messed up my mouth structure, which disheartened me so I stopped.

I'm now 22, not far off 23 and have been playing alto sax for about 2 1/2 years.

Have played trombone, piano, guitar (electric and accoustic), cornet, flugal horn but never really got on with them that much, loving alto sax now though and am thinking about getting a soprano sax when I'm a bit more experienced (notoriously hard to play in tune).

Don't be fooled though I'm also a metal head and love heavy bands such as lamb of god, slayer, metallica, napalm death etc.

Currently staying up late listening to and wishing I had this mans sound!

Hi, I've been playing the drums for around 11 years. Been playing in a band for a bout 9. We've had a pretty good run as a good busy function band.

I also went to the academy of contemporary music for 2 years and earned myself a degree in Music Production. and had always planned to be a sound engineer, funny how things pan out isn't it. But I still keep my hand in. Done the festival circuit for the last 2 years as a live sound engineer including Glastonbury Festival twice.

Well was a musician from about 5years old, piano, trombone tried the trumpet (couldn't get on with it) and finished up with clarinet as well. Played piano to Grade 7, was in the West Suffolk Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Cadet Force band. I stopped playing at about 17 and haven't touched an instrument since then. Pressure to achieve during my youth put me off in the I believe. No interest in playing at all nowadays, though love all types of music, with a preference for heavy rock.

Guitar for me, was in a band, had a record deal, released an album, then it went tits up as it does. Lots of false promises and alot of people talking rubbish and sniffing to much gear. I now rarely pick up my guitar.
