There are restriction on burning on farms. The one I go to will only burn if there is heavy cloud cover as they have been done before with satellite images as well

Thanks for the pointers.

Take your points about chipping preferable but there's a 3ft deep ditch to cross so tad difficult.

As it's on owners site it's surely not classed as commercial waste as it's his own. I think the preferable option is to make it clear to farmer he is responsible for the fire from lighting it to ending it.

Burn it as you go keeps the fire smaller.

You can't burn commercial waste anymore tho.

Suppose he could just crack on and see what happens, he'll soon find out if he can get away with it or not

If you burn it (for money) then its YOUR comercial waste, if you leave it cos its not what you are gettign paid for then they can burn it as their own, grey area but not your problem.

Depends on the location but you will need a licence to burn waste.

The land owner needs an exemption licence to burn his brash on HIS/HER land as long it's burnt near the trees it comes off no problem, theres all so something about if its diseased timber. Any way the cricket bat wilow boys burn every thing they don't want.

remember the rugby club accident

so beware

Fine to burn on site if you ignore regs and insurance issues but you working in smoke which is tyring at the very least

can't understand why a 3ft ditch makes chipper access difficult

would have thought a couple of ramps= problem solved
