Just catching up after not visiting the forum for quite some time. Some great new bird shots and stories.

 

Here's a 3.5 min video shot yesterday at a local great blue heron rookery. Just 3 clips and a lot of still images.

We have had the pleasure of a pair of swallows nesting above the stables in the yard for the last few years.

 

Their latest batch of five , they normally stay here long enough to do another lot. My lump of wood across the beam has stopped us losing any, they used to fall out and get trod on by the horses.

Mallard in the log stack. She's been coming back every year for the last 4 years to lay in this log so it's a permanent feature in the yard now. And she's had two broods this year as she lost the first.
