Conservation area info please

After just reading another thread on the forum it just reminded me to ask how do I find out where a conservation area is?do the local TO supply a map showing what area's are covered ?or is there somthing online I can use to find out from?

There are maps online, usually on council websites somewhere but don't know how accurate our up to date they'd be?

 

Best is to email or ring the TO and ask

Hi sasah when you ring the council just give the the postcode of the address and they will do a check for you on conservation area and run a tpo check for the address it take a couple of mins for them to do over the phone .

 

My council is very helpful as I do this quite often I usually have several applications all running at once it's all very easy and nothing to worry about the paper work is easy to do .

That contains no information on conservation areas.

 

I think you are confusing "English Heritage", with "Natural England" and "National Parks" with "Conservation Areas".

Always ring up and ask to speak to the TO or the planning admin people... and of course get their name for reference, or to be really sure get a reply by email!

Thanks little tree and everyone else for your reply, I know a fairly large area of where I will be working is probably part of a conservation area but have no idea how much of it is, I did mean to ask my friend the other day when I was working with him as he deals with the local TO but it slipped my mind and when i read the other post last night I thought its one of the best places to ask

google should find it. but watch out for old maps as they re appraise them sometimes
