Electric impact wrench??

Tyre guy I know had a dewalt 36v cordless, powerful but over £500 I think!

 

Also a snap on 24v which was good.

 

If your going to crack them off and torque up with a bar then you dont really need a mega powerful wrench.

petrol driven 'bance' gun is a bit OTT for occasional use, i have one with a stihl ts400 engine, awesome bit of kit but i use it most days! claimed peak torque by any manufacturer is usually rubbish figures, snap-on gun is good but again too much money for occasional use, would you not be better upgrading your compressor to a bigger one? or one that has a honda engine instead of a motor, far more mobile then!

Just re-read my post and what I meant was they're good for vehicle maintenance 'as well' as heavy duty work such as wheel nuts, driveshaft nuts, etc.

 

I would put a wager on them shifting your mog's wheel nuts!

hmm, 10 stud wheel on m22 x 1.5.. from a guess tightening torque would be 500 lb/ft... thats 677 nm, then add rust/dirty threads...an the fitters that believe it's not tight until it squeal's as you turn it... ive had wheel nuts that my 1" drive gun wont budge let alone a 1/2" cordless!!!

I've got a snap-on 18v cordless,awsome tool but you won't undo 677nm wheel nuts with it,I've tried on lorries. If you can find a cordless gun that'l do that let me know!

The Milwaukee heavy duty range are pretty good, up to 500ftlbs of tourqe from a cordless. Pricey though, never had a problem with the one I use.

Snap on are really good i have one at home as i used to be a mechanic.

 

It was something like 470 odd inc vat

 

Think there something like 350-450nm so its at the top end of its abilities.

 

Nice and fast charging, comes with 2 batteries
