Windy, Wet, Overcast and Miserable here in The Highlands.

Never known weather like it; the wind hasn't stopped all blooming year and even going back into last year too. High winds with very strong gusts. I've had to resort to strapping down the sheds with heavy duty 10m/50mm ratchet straps, just to keep the roofs on. Now we're heading into 'winter' god only knows what the weather will throw at us ⛈️🌪️

Buffalo in America is enjoying a decent fall of snow, about 6' going by the pictures in today's Telegraph!

Lake effect snow. We actually get that here (to a lesser extent) off the Baltic. Some of the coastal areas close to here had over 50cm this weekend.

Lovely morning here. Minus 7.3c and a beautiful mist rising off the lake (which was a balmy 4c). So a short swim was called for. The water actually felt pretty reasonable - I'm amazed that my body has adapted to this without any protests. It doesn't actually feel cold getting in and I've got no gasp reflex anymore.

It's just above freezing now, and sadly our snow is starting to melt a little. But before it got above freezing, I managed a couple more hours out on the bike on excellent hard packed snow.

The snow is all but gone now, but due to return in a big way at the weekend. Dropping temperatures with snow most days, with minus 13 on the forecast for the middle of December. Fingers crossed for a white Christmas for the kids.
