so a fat geezer who takes 1 million per year from a public service is whinging about people trying to preserve their meagre pensions. Typical Carkson hypocrisy.

He is payed out of revenue he generates, I think you will struggle to find may who were striking who could say the same :sneaky2:

Course he should stay, if anyone actually thought he was being serious for a minute then they clearly need to get a grip.

Didn't actually see anything any different to normal yesterday round us so guessing strike didn't really do a lot.

All this fuss just shows how pathetic, childish and out of touch the unions really are!!!!!

How can they say he is like Gaddafi, do they not know the difference between words and actions?????

It reminds me of being back at school, teachers detached from the real world and with no sence of humour, Oh yes thats who's striking!!!!

Got this of Facebook.

When the government decide we can have a day off for the royal wedding it doesn't damage the economy, but when the workers decide to strike for a day it costs the UK economy half a billion.... Is there something funny going on?

You lot, work harder for longer and less whilst us millionaires rule over you laughing at how easy it is to fool you.

Agreed. As much of an ass Clarkson can be at times, I must admit that I am a fan.

I have become somewhat weary with the strikers. State run enterprises only exist because they are state funded. They are so inefficient that they can't survive without backup funding. Rather than striking, the public sector should do a job swap for a day with the self employed and business owners. That might shut them up!

He's 100% right, What a soft society we live in, we can't even say what we like anymore about common sense events.

How about all of us been wrapped up in cotton wool and wearing flouresent waistcoats lying in bed all day watching Jeremy Kyle, is that what they want?

What a fecking country Eh? They are reducing us to zombies, taking away our freedom of thought.

AAAAARRGHHHH !!!

My thoughts exactly. We were 99.9% close to shouting out of the truck windows yesterday at the strikers outside the hospital something along the lines of "you think you've got it hard???!!! lol". They got the thumbsdown anyway.

I am gonna stick my head out of the trenches here and say my bit! :ridinghorse: I work for a local council and I agree that some schemes dont always work out to be profitable projects but thats part of providing a service for the public rather than a running a profitable business. And yes there are, as with all companies people who work harder and do more than others. I have worked for private companies also and work as hard as the next man. It makes me laugh when I hear people saying council workers are lazy and over paid and should have there pensions altered and be made to pay more to get less.. what they need to remember is that the front line council workers are predominently low paid compared to those in the private sector, they are cards in, pay ALL their taxes dont get the chance to swindle- (you know what i mean- cash in hand- cash money-back pocket and all that!) and have signed up to a good pension as part of their employment, so why should they suffer just because the government has run the country into the ground. If working for the council is that good why dont you do it. What I am trying to say is dont tar everyone with the same brush!

As for Clarkson, I think he is funny and entertaining one of the few left who says a few controversial things joking or not, some people need to grow up and realise there is more to life than scrutanising everything they hear.

I am sure you let me know what you think about what ive just wrote.
