evening all..

As im sure with all of us, we do a good job for the private customer, no matter how big or small.

They are amazed, impressed etc etc...

just out of interest what is the biggest or best ''tip'' you have got off a customer.

To me and my work mate { alex_m+} we got £25 EACH and lots of tea with work again in the future today.

we have got the odd £5 here and there and the odd £10, but that was a new unexpected tip today...

such nice people we worked for which and that amount of money as in any tip, was totally unexpected!

Frankly, I'm jealous!

In France we don't have a culture of tipping.

Thats due to everything being very expensive to start with.

In fact, when I work for a client it is I who give them a little souvenir, currently in the form of fridge magnets.

Hey, I know, its sad but its effective.

Dismantled a big ugly Ash last week, which was as wide as it was tall, spread over three gardens, a set of garages, numerous sheds and caravan. Two days entertainment for the customer and his neighbours earned me and my mate (apbell) a bottle of Scotch each.

Which was nice!

We often get a couple of passable bottles of Bordeaux, suppose up there you would be getting cider:001_tt2:.

i once was reducing quite a large silver birch when we had a proper summer rainfront come over, the tree was running with water and flowing down my sleeves and i looked at the house and the chap was in his upstairs window with his son, both wetting themselves laughing. anyway when i finished he came out and gave me a box of eggs and a homemade cookie. think i would have prefer money or scotch but its the thought that counts!
