    it s funny how clear things are from an office in london! its very easy to say i would do this and they shouldnt do that, when they really dont have a clue whats happening. the MOD and government are spineless and totally letting the forces down. i hope these lads are cleared, its one less scumbag in the world. in my opinion.

    hey guys, kentjames yeah i had thought about that, but not got round to going yet. my mrs had headaches when reading and they sorted that out. andy i do try to keep on top of my hydration at work as its one of my pet hates to get dehydrated, but i do know what you mean, it does almost feel like a dehydration headache. woodworks yeah im guessing its something similair, i went to docs this morning and he couldnt see anything wrong,just said it should pass by itself. who knows, im hoping it does though!

    no not from customers! does anyone else suffer from them? i normally dont, but yesterday and today off work and im getting fed up. anything i do that requires concentration, driving, using saw etc seems to them off across my forehead and behind my eyes, and the sound of my saw offends me greatly at the moment:thumbdown: i would have never considered taking time off for a headache but it cuts my attention levels down and as i work on my own im just not risking it. paracetemol etc do nothing so im just sitting in a dark room bored so thought i would have a rant!

    cheers spud, i took out the gauze and also some of the fins on the cylinder had a thin layer of grime encrusted so i cleaned that off. it seems a bit better but i dont think its 100%, seems to need constant tuning. i start a new job on the 1st of october were i can use the saws provided, so i will run mine until then, and then maybe send it over to you and see what you think! thanks for the advice so far

    buy a couple of bar mines on the black market and lay them under the gate way, any survivors wont be stealing fuel, they be picking up the arms and legs of there (ex) buddies. jobs a goodun:thumbup1:

    hi all, saw running nicely today, dropping good size wood so got fairly warm. put it down and went for a cup of tea when i started it back up again it was running really badly. low revs top end and really 'lumpy' and rough is the best way to describe it. took plug out and it was black, cleaned it/ filter etc and then ran the engine for a while, still poor and plug looked a bit oily. any ideas? thanks:thumbup1:

    well i must say im a little puzzled by some of the responses on this thread, as an avid lurker i read a lot of posts and when PPE (lack of),unsafe working methods or working without tickets etc are mentioned they are almost unanimously condemned. yet i feel some of the responses in favour of all of these things. a contractor or not (i will ask and find you for you butler) its still dangerous and as i have already said i was making an oberservation. i like to see best practice, especially when its for people i know. maybe ive just had too much cider, and cant see the wood for the trees:beerchug:

    I hate people jumping to conclusions it is my pet hate.......... unnecessary thread IMO i had been watching him for a while and i like to think i know what im talking about at least a little so it wasnt a conclusion i "jumped" to. maybe you could see it a bit better than me from jersey:001_tt2: im sure there have been threads started on a lot less, but mods if this is unnecessary etc please feel free to delete/move etc:001_smile:

    well it seems he lived through the day. jobs not great, hedge is not level, standard is pretty poor as well as his PPE and work technique. i wouldnt get involved any further,its his choice, if hes in the trade he should be aware of whats expected of him. if he wants to lop his head off then thats his problem im not going to waste any of my weekend worrying about him. it was just an observation i thought i would share. by the way, thanks born2trot i spent ages getting those smilies:lol:

    Just sitting eating my breakfast watching with morbid fascination a guy in jeans and a baseball cap topping the hedge the other side of the road with an ms200 using it one handed all the way! cutting at neck/head height on a ladder! i know its not the home owner so must be a contractor, so if your a home owner and a "proffesional" turns up to your house looking/working like this please dont use them!! Im going to split some wood out back and wait for the sirens.........

    nursed myself through 5.5 miles today. trying to get back into it after sometime out, its a bit depressing as when i was in the marines i wouldnt have broken a sweat but today i was a mess!! Also doing an event called 'the bewl barrel race' with a few guys from my local pub. It basically involves a team (up to ten) carrying a full barrel of harveys bitter (55kg ish) around bewl water, roughly 13 miles.The winning team gets a full barrel to drink! should be a good laugh!

    again cant advise on size but as a 4x4 pick up id be suprised if it couldnt take slightly larger tyres? as splinters said the kumhos are great, ive got some toyo mud terrains on which turned out cheaper than insa turbos and arent remoulds, they are extremley good offroad and not as load as the insa turbos on the road:thumbup:

    thanks for all the responses chaps. just had to google a C15....errr dont really think thats going to work:lol: As many have now suggested i will be keen on keeping the hilux, i can now show this thread to my mrs to prove how many people would do the same... wish me luck!

    yeah this is actually my take on it, but thought i would go through the motions of looking to keep the mrs happy, quiet life and all that it seems if i did want something noticably better it would need to be newer which i cant afford anyway! i appreciate the input guys!

    i like the rodeos and heard the isuzus are pretty solid, little bit pricey for me at the moment though does anyone have any experience of the troopers? unfortunatly i think i would be stuck pretty quick in a transporter or caddy! thanks guys

    not really heard much on the ranger but i will have a look, cheers. never really been keen a discos but again probably worth a look, ill get on ebay and have a browse! cheers guys its all good stuff:thumbup:

    yeah seems about right ive got a 99 turbo diesel with muds, which to be honest i cant really do without, the wealden clay gets pretty sticky!
