What's on your bench today?

Thanks Richard.

I have red Dirko gasket compound. That's supposed to be high temp, would I be better off using that rather than the PTFE tape? I didn't think of using that and I'm not sure it's suitable for threads.

I just don't want to send the saw back with something that isn't a permanent repair.

I've used the gasket compound on the last few threads and the under side of the bolt head just to get a good seal on a sump plug on a mower engine that's been there a few years with no problems.

The only thing is I now have to syphon the oil out rather than disturbing the seal, but with a decomp plug that shouldn't be a problem

Muff has been off a piston is in nice nick. It's had a carb kit but I may re strip and and u/s clean to double check. I'll have a bash at turning the idle up. Revved it's knackers off yesterday after starting. Didn't Rev out just died like it ran out of fuel.

Will try the adjustments and see what happens.

Not letting this one win!

Thanks all for suggestions.

Chucked the carb in the u/s last night. Rebuilt today and the saw is now leaning out at wot. Carb and inlet etc are perfect so suspect bearing/crank seals. It's a tidy saw so going to split the cases and totally re build.
