If You Run A Tree Business - This Affects You

Some people on here think its good because they believe it will wipe out rouge traders.

Thats just nieve at best. All that will happen is the more we accept new legislation the more it will hurt our business in future.

Bigger firms may survive but they will hike prices so the pikeys will return in force and start the cycle all over again.

Price is the main factor in our business the more legislation we have to pay for the more were pricing ourself out our own market.

I do not agree chip should be classed as waste a fully recycle my chip how the hell is it waste.

I really get rattled by this we should have the right to vote for legislation that directly affects us not let some idot who cant mow the grass make decisions.:thumbdown:

:congrats::congrats:

I am happy to be a test case on this: If I get stopped with no liscence I will argue that I am not carrying waste but a product which i have paid for by discounting the price of my job, I will then go on to sell this product at a later date.

I live near a layby where the VOSA and SEPA guys often have a testing station, all goods vehicles are pulled in, I usually go past when they are setting up so have never been pulled, but who knows one day I might sleep in.

The problem is that I actually whole-heartedly AGREE with your arguments, but I dont see how this law can be avoided legally. I see logs and chip as something that has a purpose, not as waste, but a simple difference between forestry and arb seems to make all the difference

Andy, the law is often wrong!

If we all bend over and take it more fool us!!

More of us need to take a stand and just say "NO"!!

Its the only way we can hope to stop these muppets in suits from messing up our lives, IMO.

Im so glad im not the only one who feels this is one piss take to far.

We work in one of the hardest industries around and to have to deal with pen pushing jobsworths grates me something bad.

We should all stick together and voice our views after all we keep paying for this that and the other but what do we get for our money nothing but permission to carry on doing what we was before.

Am i the only one who feels we should send them complaint after complaint if we should together we actually could make a difference.

Is it not about time we stopped just saying yes sir no sir bend me over and rob me blind sir. We keep doing our best to keep within the law but they would rather make impossible laws so they earn more through fines than tax.

We were all supposed to have a waste license years ago its not something new.

Plus I think there are other waste of time and money things we have to do like have a groundie with aerial rescue why :confused1:

I know it is another stupid thing to pay out for but think that if you dont, your customer is liable for you tipping there waste and they could get into trouble because you dont have a license. Now thats not very professional is it :001_tongue:

I also dont believe everyone who says that they have never tipped at a land fill site, I know of at least 2 muppets where I live that will swear blind that ALL there arising are recycled 100% when I know for a fact that they use skips when its convienent :sneaky2:

People, we are all blaggers, liars and hipocrites at some point in life.

I never have and I can honestly say I have never charged for woodchip. The reason I bought my woodland is because it has an access road to a scoutcamp running through it. That means hundreds of cars every weekend drive slowly past my chip pile and see the free chip sign.

That was my business plan to get shut of woodchip without it costing money in a way where it is put to good use. All it has cost me is the price of the woodland, which has paid for itself and is an asset which increases in value.

Quite good business sense if you don't mind me blowing my own trumpet.
