What's the intention with the tree, is it meant to stay for ever, produce a crop?

My first thought (I'm not an arborist as such, but have some experience with apple orchard and restorative pruning) that you've taken rather a lot off. I'd be worried about the density of the regrowth, you'll have to come back to it lots....

Too many abrupt ends, old suckers that have been left to grow as branches have not been removed. No replacement pruning allowed for. Too larger cuts made that at this time of year, that will encourage infection of silverleaf. Typical pruning job, of a tree surgeon that hasn't got a clue how to prune fruit trees!

A bit abrupt Fire Thorn.

But some good points made

Agree with you firethorn bit harsh on the pruning, but my understanding is is you only get silverleaf on stone fruit not on this apple tree which this appears to be.:sneaky2:
