I once had the pleasure of ringing up over 300 Tuns of hard wood mostly beech over the winter with a 46 and it was a beast but the anti vibes are crap also I think the saw was almost dead due to really air filter desighn ... Can't tell to the proper out come as the saw was stolen

i recently bought a husky 395 xp from F R Jones and can not complain at all , i wil not be going back to using an ms660 thats for sure

I love my 395 but the 390 would be a good compromise..

I've got a 441. Very good powerful saw and very smooth also. Mine seems to eat exhaust baffle though?

Got a 660 and the 441 has much lower vibes, all in all I rate the 441 and would probably get another

Well looking at all the posts - many thanks to all, and reading up specs etc I went for an old hat MS460 25" ( I have a spare new 20" bar, that will go on first).

 

Its when you have to put your own money down I tend to get cautious, I am biased to Stihl although I have an old 266XP that can't be faulted.

 

From reading posts on vibration I looked up Stihl specs and had a suprise. The MS650 is the same weight as the MS660 but less power but higher vibs:confused1: the MS 460 is a bit lower with the MS441 alot lower again.

 

It seams a bit of a Marmite game between Stihl and husky with some users having opposite feelings on different saws. It would be good in future to try out a few saws at a show etc even if I bring a tonne of wood along to make up my mind.

I have a 441 it's not a great saw but it's far from a bad saw. Used a 460 and yes it's better but not by that much.
