Well I suppose I could get really offended at some of those comments but tbh I aint interested.

Maybe mine was in bad taste it was supposed to be a light hearted comment since this thread has really gone down hill considering it was supposed to be a bit of a headsup/back to reality warning.

I dont think there was any need to start slaging off Jason since he knows and admits it was an idiotic thing to do.

Anyhow I'm leaving it at that.

imo jason has made a mistake and has learnt from it and just wants everybody else to learn from what was probably a momentary lapse of clear thinking and oh dear the saw bites back. As nuggsy said no-one else was hurt or anything damaged apart from jason's pride (and his arm). but thats just my opinion.

Its made me think about the near misses I've had in my career, usually thru a moment of absent-mindedness. Just the other day, I caught my legs in some wire, pitched over, and fell on my saw. many a time the saw may have been running, this time it wasnt. How could I have avoided tripping? Check around more carefully next time. Lesson learned. Had the saw been running, I too may have been posting a completely different tale, and receiving criticism for it.

Just wanted to say thank you to Jason for posting the pics....all eye openers like this are a good thing to show others, maybe tomorrow at work we will all think about things that could go wrong and wont mind spending a few extra seconds tying the lowering rope or getting into propper position etc.... Wish you a speedy recovery mate
