  7. Already run a 15 on her but due to the problems ive not had full potential. Hopefully if its right i can go on to look at buying a bigger saw from the same era just to pull that little bit bigger chain, like a 22" plus
  8. Fair point bud. I managed to find 1 of a dieing breed, an old school saw mechanic! Had it into him today and he said it was a carb problem, the saw is 22 years old so he also did a compression test on it and reckons its like brand new but it turned out the carb wasnt quite right set up so he adjusted it and the saw seems to be like a new machine, hope it works
  9. Its creating vacuum in the petrol tank when running but wen i switch it iff it pisses feul out tge breather which ist handy lol
  10. That kinda helps, hope that's the problem lol, local saw shop recons it is but wasn't keen on doin the job lol

  12. i have a 254 that i think the breather could be knackered on, i have the part ready to replace but im not sure on how exactly to replace it ? anyone ever done such job ? cheers Allan
  13. my uncle is running a help for heroes log and kindler buissiness in dumfries and is potentialy looking for more timber, he has already had about 23 ton from a local estate delivered, rougly 10m lengths of semi seasoned timber, im looking for prices delivered to dumfries probably about 20t at a time or more if the wagon can get in. please email me on [email protected] cheers Allan

  15. hi guys, been a while but i have been asked to id a tree by a client but im having a hard time working it out. i dont have a picture as it was dark but the leaf is massive, 6 - 8 inches wide. quite a dark green in colour with 4 rounded points, they are all very uniform in size and colour. the bark of the tree is for want of another word, mildly rough? almost like rough beech prob not enough info there but if someone knows what it may be it would be much appreciated. oh and the bark is quite green and the tree isnt very old id guess maybe 10 - 15 yrs cheers Allan
  16. check the oil cap is on correctly, the stihl caps can be tempramental (sp)

  20. i had same problem with a 210, i replaced the diaphragm and feul filter the only thing i didnt replace was the breather but i have since heard the breather is at fault

  22. generally i do all mechanics etc myself, im 24 and have had no option but to learn myself as my dad would very rarely help me which i dont grudge coz if he had i probably wouldnt be able to do half of wat i can now

    hmmm does sound very lacking in knowledge on the police/vosa behalf. its strange how northumberland and lancashire have 2 different views on it
