Chin-up bar

I have a standard 1" dia chrome chin up bar.

On holiday last week I was chinning from an Oak limb about 2" dia., which I found much better.

How can I increase the bar diameter easily, preferably with something grippy?

Anyone suggesting 2" dia Oak limb with a 1" hole bored through it will be banned from this section of Arbtalk. *

How about some pipe lagging and then wrap it tight with duct tape

what i was going to say:thumbup:

anyway forget your chin up bar mark, i've got an off cut of lowering rope through an eye in the ceiling, no loops just grip the two ends of the rope and pull to suit the areas you want to target.

Dude, chin with lowering ropes and alternate your grip. One arm one rope then move on to Gorilla chins!

You don't necessarily need to be pulling on the bar. The bar is only the convenient anchor that fits in a doorframe.

You could suspend whatever grip you want from the bar and pull on that/those.
