The new chain is definitely more aggressive.:thumbup:

 

If the new 020 is slow to throttle response then that is a very very poor.

 

 

I assume the chain has been tensioned by hand and is free to move/pull.

 

I guess they have had to lean the saw out to make way for the new emissions that it doesnt have any low end power.

 

I hope not and its just a bedding in teething problem!

I got one of Stihl's new offerings at the Arbshow. I noticed when the saw picks up on the throttle, in acts and sounds like the chain is too tight, even when set much looser that I'd normally use it. I've tried filling the plastic blocks on the side plate/body down and removing one of them to no avail. I got the chance to check out a mates 201T yesterday and his has the same symptoms. Is this just down to the saw design?...once the revs pick up its not a problem, but I'm wondering if this is putting strain on the clutch when running up?....

 

It sounded like that when the bloke was using it at the last show, (when it started that is).

I've got no complaints about the saws performance..its balance is perfect, theres more power and the chain performs very well in both big wood and on smaller pruning cuts. I'm concerned about the initial pick up and wear on the bar and spur sprocket..only time will tell. Maybe this is all to do with the lack of the piston pump (which was a pain on the 200t that had to be replaced ever 4 to 6 months anyway)?. I've still got a 200t and a 200, but my 201t is my weapon of choice :thumbup:

No they had a pump that ran off the throttle butterfly shaft that pumped in fuel when you hit the throttle.

 

They wore out but also wore out the carb body too letting in air.:thumbdown:

now i'm :confused1: i don't know if i want to wait till the new husky arrives or on the other hand i don't want to buy the 201 and wish i had waited....:blushing:
