hi guys, as a a producer and supplier from Baltics, I see that lots of companies have logs in stock. We have shipped many containers in September, but right now colleagues are starting to order again, I guess sales are going before the Christmas.

Also you should keep in mind that there's SECA Announcement 2015 and it increases shipping cost by 100 EUR to UK.

I think its a combination of oil price being very low, people have windblown stuff from the storms last year and they have stuff left over from the mild winter last year.

I think this is true. With the storm currently rolling in, I bet there's gonna be plenty of chinese chainsaws being prepared to pounce on the wind blown.

Not great for sales.

I've noticed a large amount of totally vague or downright untruthful advertising both locally and online.

Bulk bags either 'a tonne' or 1m3.

3.5t tipper load 2 tonnes.

'Barn stored' is another great term.

Stick a green log in a barn for 5 seconds and Hey Presto!.

Do you reckon there's any correlation between people using wood as fuel (as opposed to decoration in a nice new stove) and those same people having oil fired heating too?

I know it's a massive generalisation but I'm assuming most oil users are "ruralish" due to no gas and hence more likely to also use wood where possible. These users are probably kicking the arse out of oil given it's cheapish at the moment and the "decorative users" will start buying soon ready for the party season.

Just wondered......
