help i am trying to make my mind up should i go for an ldv ,iveco,tranny or any the others sorely tempted by the ldv due to cost . pros and cons please:thumbup:

Forget the LDV, there were crap new and don't get better wih age. new tranny's have issues aswell. Iveco are good.

Late model LDV’s have the same engine and running gear as the transit so the only difference is the cab

Ive got a Toyota dyna tipper. It's not perfect but carries weight well and is narrow enough to get down drives.

daily ,wi the bigger engine fitted ,try upping to a 5.2t, for the better payload,the o, leisanec, isnt as taxing as some make out

the cab is important but ldv went bust in 09 thet tells you lots

they're all much of a muchness, unless you want tog et specific with years. the early transits and LDV's were the same pretty much mechanically. modern ivecos are plagued wth fuel injection problems, transits seem alright and aren't the new ldv's FWD?

Has anybody ever weighed a 3.5T tipper and tool box with two men and tools and fuel?

 

Well I'll tell you. It weighs about 3495kilos. For those of you without a calculator, that leaves you enough margin for five litres of extra petrol but not the plastic can to carry it in so you must drink it, lest the rozzers take you to the weigh bridge!

 

Therefore the only truck good for our job is a 10tonner or bigger or a big Unimog. Otherwise you'll have to tip off every two hours!
