Log shed/store

I have been researching log sheds for a few customers and wasn't overly impressed with what you got for the money you pay out. So I had a go at making one just to see whether or not they would be worth doing from a business perspective.

Made from 6"x1" and 3"x2" tanalised wood with a felt roof, volume of 2.16 cubic metres (internal 1.8mx0.8mx 1.5-1.6m high). They can take 10 barrow bags of logs comfortably (2 cube)

Price would be around £230-£250 but would include delivery and putting it up, slab bases at extra cost.

Any thoughts/criticism (pref constructive) welcome

I have two retail outlets in mind for selling them pus a website

I think your on the right track and you've got the price spot on :thumbup1:

(If it was Me) I would try to make it a feature in the garden by adding a few details that would only take a small ammount of time,

If you've got a Radial arm saw, roughter or saw bench then you could rebate the side slats in at an angle to deflect the rain out and maybe run a roughter up the corners of the front 2 posts, just to add the details that make the customer think that it wasnt something they could have done :sneaky2:

PS...Have a look around and see if you can scrounge pallets for the bases as this will help keep the cost down and the profits up

Looks good Dave,

I would be tempted to finish the roof felt off with a facia board of some sort. the felt can get a bit dogeared along the edges if left as it is. Even a roof lathe batten will look smarter, less chance of it ripping near the nails also.

How about staining the timber a nice dark green as an option.
