This site still has to go through the planning stage, but I cant see it being refused, there is a weighbridge at Jewers by the Westbound exit, so it makes perfect sense to have Vosa there. Guessing they will be sitting on the bridges before the junction watching for "dodgy" vehichles to pull, as they do at Risby.

We have one across the border here at Bexwell, with vosa sitting at nearby roundabouts on the A10, which most loaded local transit tipper owners steer well clear of. Funny how when they're sat up waiting they always look so mean and grumpy.

I reckon they have failed in their main ambitions in life. Traffic cop etc. then they get the training that indoctrinates them how criminal working people are.

Quotes like 90% of all illegal activity that is caught is on the highway.

Turns them in to terriers at their job.

Is that what they've put beside the A14 at Elmswell? I wondered what it was. Ridiculous place, there will be a load of accidents with vehicles going in and out within 40m of the roundabout and on a bend. Any other applicant would have had it refused for planning.👎

Talking about vosa and transport, recieved my new copy of The Transport Managers Handbook 2011 today, after a quick flick thru', i discovered you now need a minimum of £8.5k in a bank account, to be able to put your 1st hgv on road. End of my dreams, me thinks for now.

You can re-kindle that dream, I believe that amount is for standard licence, restricted o licence is 3k or so.

Planning application has been submitted for a new VOSA checkpoint on the A14/A1088 junction in Suffolk. Now I know we're all professional law-abiding citizens and this wont affect us in any way, but that will mean there are 2 checkpoints in this area. Hopefully they'll target dodgy foreign trucks.

I doubt they will turn a blind one. Probably been looking on arbtalk's over loaded thread Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaa. Too much paperwork tied up in them foreign types including those from over seas.
