My wife and I went to see the film "127 hours" today, I already knew the story and had seen Aaron interviewed years ago not long after it had happened.

Basically we was climbing/canyoning, he had not told anyone where he was going, a large rock fell trapping his hand, he was trapped for 127, eventually he snapped the bones in his forearm and cut through the tissue with a very blunt knife to amputate his own arm, freeing him and saving his life.

Do you think you could do the same if it was that or die???

Jeeezz, Were his bones broken already? if not how did he break them?

I guess desperation and determination can make you do extrodinary things.

I saw the trailer last week, looks better than the film we ended up watching!

No mate, but his hand was trapped solid so he forced his arm until one bone broke and then did the other.

I remember readign about it when it happened. Then when I heard about the film I was suprised they could make a film about it, but thats filmaking I guess.

Touching the Void, would make a better film but all thewy did there was make a crappy docu-drama thingy with the real guys doing a voice over.

Was the actual guy in the film? And did he ever go back and get his hand?
