Any comments from those who have tried the stuff you mix with water?

Yes, don't bother  Got given a sample to try a while back from local dealer, mixed it up as directed but wasn't convinced as was thin and watery, ran it in 372 for one tank and that was enough. Bar and chain would get hotter and chain would need tightening well before end of a tankful.

Waste of time IMO

I like the oregon super saw and the bog standard husqvarna stuff.

If i can say to the client its Bio oil and its good for the environment its all good

Is that what you think it’s about?

I think it’s better not to flush non bio degradable mineral oil into the environment when there is an alternative.

Have a look at the COSHH sheet for any mineral oil, including chain oil. The recommendation for spillage is to sanitise and dispose. It then gets disposed of as controlled waste same as any other waste oil.

What’s the difference in releasing it at a rate of half a litre per hour from the saw or half a litre per minute from a spill?

Have to say, when I've used veg oil from Tescos coz I forgot the normal stuff :blushing::001_rolleyes: it ran very well in an 023 and pole saw.

I was told that veg oil would eventually bugger the pump up, especially if it started to wax in cold conditions. Can anyone shed any light on this?
