Hi guys, just in the process of getting my first chipper, and whilst doing the sums on running costs etc, it occured to me that with a chipper not being eligable for road duties i should take advantage and use red diesel.

Firstly...does this effect performance/life of the machine?

secondly...will it invalidate the warranty?

Any thoughts will be gratefully recieved!

Pete

its the only thing to run em on, in the winter make sure it has anti freeze in the red. ite does not effect the performance or warranty mate. cheap to.

excellent... i know essentially its simply 'dye' that makes it red but i have seen on other machinery based forums that people have had performance issues using red.

Contrary to all of that... i shall defo be taking advantage of the savings!!

always use red, just shop around for the best price, at the moment you should find it approx half the price of white, ask farmers and plant hire firms or oil companies, i was lucky and found someone who gives me red in exchange for clean white woodchip:thumbup:
