My .22 has always been plenty powerfull enough as a bunny-stopper, at 11ft/lbs, its more a case of using the tool properly, picking your shot properly, estimating your range well, not taking a "pot-shot". I've found foxes rotting alive where bad marksmen have winged them, its not the weapon but the ability to use it that matters. I hate to make an animal suffer, and will pass up on a target if i doubt I can take it in one clean shot.

Well done, I hate the thought of an animal suffering. Its got to be a clean kill or nothing. I also pass up targets if its in doubt regarding a one shot kill or safety. At eleven ft lb youre hunting skills are extremely sharpened.

Ive got a very old winchester pump action, that can still take the 3inch magnum cartridge, dont know if you can still buy em or not,the sound it makes when you load it is scary enough, its about 5 foot 8 long ugly but effective.

Is it the Winchester Ranger multi-choke? Here's mine, bought for £90.
