i was wondering why he was resting on his energy absorber then i realised it was just a scaffold hook on a rope. thats some shortcut not stropping in. one slip and you're toast. i'd happily climb it but snapping those huge hooks every few steps.

We were meant to double lanyard (ie snap on, advance, snap on, snap off, advance etc.) on comms towers, but in reality that just kills your forearms and wrists, so you only strop on for a break.

 

You would not even think about falling off a fixed 20' ladder whilst climbing it, would you? It's all in the MIND!
