let alone the risk of kickback, the whole tree could come back quickly if it wanted to, why didnt they use the skidder? there is too many variables with bottle jack method IMO, finally note there new HSE approved ultra-light helmets!

Well we all know hse doesn't exist in france....have you seen them building a house out there, shocking!! I liked it and yeah they could of used the skidder but maybe they forgot a pull line:lol: But it all went well no one died or nothing damaged.

I can't watch the vid at minute so maybe shouldn't of commented but I have seen people use bottle jacks to good affect, also I haven't seen the vid but sounds like someone is in the kick back zone or whatever it's called, I think I can handle a saw and I know what it's doing but I still would not run a saw if someone was close enough to be hit by it

The kickback thing worried me too, as did the bit where he walks past his mates face with the saw.

 

I get the bottle jack thing, but think wedges are effective, and quicker.
