they probally do the white diesel as if there is any unaccounted for red diesel within these big companies they get serios grief from customs and excise

some of the big comepanies even run the non road legal kit on white to save trouble

there is something like 20,000 litres of red unaccounted for on one of the big sites a day

Brake parts are one of the few reasonably priced parts, pads are under £100 per set and disc's are around £100 each. You could not wear out a set in 3 months.

Some one is pulling your leg.

I can see where your comming from Huck , i should have added that these trucks have to be tested to make sure that they are still up to insulated standards , and as has been stated they can not run the risk of the mog being off the road as it can be required 24 hours a day .

every three years the mog is taken off the road and the hoist is taken to pieces then reconditioned and put back together. there is nothing taken to chance with these guys , no shopping round for parts , if the part needed was to cost say 9k there would not be a question about it , they would be ordering it (if they do not carry what ever it is as a spare) .

I agree that HMCE take a dim view if you can’t account for the usage of the red you have bought but are you certain about that figure

20,000L at £0.47/l is in the order of £9,400.00

it was a balfor beaty sight i seem to remember possibly terminal 5 or the big tunnel job they have at the moment and seeing they had 3/4 10000 litre bowsers running 24 hrs a day it didn't take much to loose that much

they recon most of it was lazy drivers not recording small delivers such as gennies lghting units and compressors but a fair quantity was probally nicked
