check this out, i have a mate who put green wood on his radiator to dry out!! he cranks up the centeral heating to dry out wood to then burn on the fire to try and save money!! nice guy but a bit of a plonker.

No wood is good to burn green unless you want to tar your chimney up...

Does he run a dehumidifier simultaneously to deal with the moisture?

I have found sycamore takes a good while to season. It will burn green but picks up moisture very easilly. In my opinion, best stacked well under cover and off the ground.

 

Nice firewood though when dry although it goes quickly.

Ash is fine to burn Green.

 

On closed fires! I fueled my barbie with some cut two days previously and smoked everyone off the patio!

how long does it take to season Sycamore before its ready to burn. not good to burn it green is it?
