Bench Press

Funnily enough, protein intake it relatively unimportant in comparison to eating enough. Assuming you are busy with arb work, you will be eating a lot. If you are eating a lot, the protein will take care of itself (unless you're subsisting on Sherbet Refreshers!).

I'm pretty damn skinny at the moment, but even at 99kg bw, I have to eat 6000 kcal a day to sustain my weight and work at full speed.

It also seems to be that of the three big lifts (squat, bench and dealift) that bench press is most affected by increases in bodyweight. A few kilos gained will usually put a similar amount on your bench.

oh yeah.. squat , squat, squat.

squats have a spiollover affect on to your other exercises. getting stronger at squats will make your bench press go up.

Spot on!

I'm hitting squats twice a week, it hurts, but worth it. My legs are lagging though.

Dumbell presses offer a wider range of stretch and hit those fibres not normally brought into play. Also eastern block weight athletes combine heavy weights with push high press ups(do a normal press up really quickly pushing yourself off the ground and break the fall under controled power)do this till you collapse in a heap.It develops explosive power and ensures that red and white muscle fibres are stimulated.

Im training on a split day program , take for instance yesterday was chest and back , i find i get better results from supper setting ie- 5 sets of six bumbell chest press @36 kg a side with deadlifts @ 130-140kg in betwene . it is intense and you do suffer for the first few sessions but you will see results , also protein intake is important but most importantly you should get your carbs in before training , to aid with your training you could maybe try using Maximuscle Cyclone , i train using it for 3 months on 1 month off and if im totally honest it does help me as it allows me to train that bit harder and for longer .
