I think you will find that 99.99% of people have panic and fear on their faces while they are in the process of drowning.

I am currently thinning a stand of oak where the Squirrel damage is tremendous. You can not guarantee an "instant" death, even at point blank range, in a cage, the squig can move his head at the precise moment you squeeze the trigger and wounding is inevitable. I work for a little old lady who takes great delight in telling me how many she has caught and disposed of, in the water butt, I just tell her to not tell anyone she does that. The RSPCA are always looking for an easy prosecution, and if you get someone belligerently saying " yes, I drowned it, so what", they will do you. As mentioned earlier, a positive outcome for them brings publicity and money flowing in to the coffers.

Personally, I feel the grey squirrel is just a rat with a fluffy tail, I would gladly see every one killed, bring back the reds.
