Need your help here fellas.

Been asked to de-ivy a (small) cliff face, which I can do using a ground anchor in the garden at the top and abseiling down the face.

Problem is, my rope would be routed over a double skin brick wall.

What can I do to get round the problem?

MEWP access is not feasible here due to a variety of reasons.

Thanks

Could you fashion a H frame out of something, Maybe 3 scaffold bars or similar and let your rope run over the smooth metal? :confused1:

Just an idea

Could you drape some old lengths of carpet along the top of the wall, half down the face, half on top for your rope to rub safely over.

I was thinking that if you're going to abseil down a single line, then surely a couple of layers of something like carpet or matting could work, If you're going to use a "normal" climning system, anchor point to a H frame like Mozz said and then a little redirect pulley could do the trick. Only about £12 and handy to keep if you haven't got one.
