Do you mean that you would pass all your work to other companies then? Or to other sole traders who hire in their own groundies etc?

You can be an AAAC and only use self employed climbers etc if thats waht you mean, you don't need to use bona fide sub contractors. you can hire in your own staff as required.

So therefore, frank could advertise as a AAAC and then sub cowboys to carry out the works?:001_huh:

Its the management thats AAA, other wise every time you change any staff you would need to be assessed again.

Many years ago a local branch of one of the big utility arb firms was thinking of going AAA and asked me (did a fair bit of subbing too them) if I would do the climbing for their assessments.

Yes, the "subbies" being used would have to pass the criteria for the AAAC assessment and subsequent re assessment but in the time inbetween he "could" use anyone he felt like!

Its the management and the staff at the time of the assessment. Lots changes in between without re assessment all the time.

I've done rigging for AAAC assessments for other firms and my paperwork gets included in the whole package, then the firm can use me or anyone else once passed.

Wow

That would be a massive loophole if it exists, and would undermine the whole purpose of the scheme. Somehow, I think the AA might just have seen or anticipated (or already seen) that scenario particularly since they have recently reviewed the scheme.

My money is on them having a condition that AAAC’s must ensure any hired in labour or subbies have to be pukka.
