i think its hard to beat a toyota landcruiser colorado 3lt per 2002. for the dosh very good truck.

Bit late now but the info might help somebody. I blew the head in my surf, followed rapidly by the gearbox. Took it in to get the head sorted and was told that the surf was never made for towing and they don't send them out of the factory in Japan with a towbar for that reason. Prone to blowing heads BIG TIME if you do a lot of heavy towing.

much better off getting a hilux pickup. from the mk4 onwards they are a turbo diesel which is what i have & will happily tow a chipper while stacked up with logs or chippings with high sides on.

 

 

it won't be long till he tries to get rid of the frontera.....

Ive had on great truck, took in on some sand dunes against my mate in his NATO issue landrover ans it p..sed all over it. Make sure you go for the 3.0ltr TD SSRG and not the 2.5 which is the more common one as the head gaskets go. Very good truck i would have anouther tomorrow.:biggrin:
