Mog losing air/air not building up

Recommended Posts

evening guys , its looking like the mog needs a new compressor , i took the main air line off and could stop the air flow with my finger which would say to me that the piston rings have gone , i then took the head off of the compressor and found that oil was being pushed above the piston and had dammaged the gasket . have got a price for a brand new one from vos and they want £600 for the compressor and can have it here for tuesday , i have now got to find something to remove any carbon buildupps from the rest of the air system so that we dont kill the new compressor !! now i see why mog's are expensive to run lol

Dave- listen to Skyhuck and Steve........USE AC PRICE NOT VOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

i did ask Alex and to be honest he did not seem that interested in selling me the parts at all , i will give him another shout on monday , here is something to make you laugh , i asked vos about ingector pipes as the no1 injector pipe has been dammaged - vos said to me that they have a second hand one there on the shalf for £35.oo !!! so i give our local diesel fitters a call and they tell me they could make me one that length for about £12 and would do it while i wait

Why either?

The mog, like any other truck is a collection of commercial vehicle parts held together with some fasteners. Some bits are specialist, most aren’t. The last mog I fixed got a recon steering box for a fraction of the price the specialists wanted.

Take the compressor off and get it down to your nearest commercial vehicle factor.

Ask your local haulier where they get parts, their margins are tight and they don’t pay over the odds.

agree if its a wabco unit most commercial vehicle parts people should be able to get a new unit by quoting the number on the id plate

have you not tried MUDIE BOND they are nearer to you than the other dealers (thats prob where A vos will be getting there parts from ) when i ordered some parts from vos they came from M bond direct to me
