I doubt theres a huge difference between .325 and 3/8" chain if you compare two of the same gauge and chisel type. Both saws use 1.3mm 0.050" gauge, full chisel chain?

Some new chains are supplied a bit blunt (Panther for example). Sharpened it?

Chains not blunt, if you watch the vid you’ll see the clean chip coming out.

Looking at your video you have the older BLi300 battery. The newer BX series have an orange trim. I think Kram and Mark Skyland are spot on in that the full potential of this saw can only be judged with the batteries designed for it. Attached a screenshot from Husqvarna that basically repeats what Mark Skyland has already said.

Not sure personally if putting 1.3 chain, like the 542i has on it, will make any difference. I could be wrong. It won't be the first time nor the last.

Used a 542i with the new BX battery in it. Very impressed, the clutch made a huge difference. Does the 550i have a clutch? Everything i have read does not say.

Good points, I’ll get back to you on those.

It can make a huge difference.

The 2511 is numb on 3/8P but rips on 1/4.

Update.

Went to the husky dealer and went through it.

It seems the 300 battery I’m using puts out 9 amperes the 500 puts out 15 amperes. (Whatever they are) resulting in Mo Power!

So ordered one, €700 odd if you don’t mind.

Should have it end of next week.

Will report when I have it.

Did you change the bar/sprocket/chain?

We talked about it, but to my mind Husky decided that that combo was what it wanted, so it should pull it with the 500 battery, so we didn’t bother.

It would probably be a bit better, but what would that prove?

I want it 100% if you know what I mean.

You could put a LP   .325 chain on the same bar and sprocket for a narrower  kerf

I reckon worth a go for £15 or whatever.

SP33G is the "pixel"  .325 husky C33 is standard .325 husky chain i think.

Weird they didn't spec the pixel?

Maybe a wider chain clears chip faster?

That Pixel chain has been around for about 10 years . I tried it on a 346 I had at the time ( the old non 50cc version ) and I didn't like it . Thought it was bit flimsy .
