Breakfast £5

Lunch £5

Dinner £20

With regards to you working away, are you contractually obliged? because if not I’d want (and I’d pay) a bonus as well!

What a bonus for a reach around you mucky bugger

Have they said how much food is provided with the accommodation?

Anyway I thought all forwarder drivers lived in caravans in the woods!

I have a family member who drives HGVs, he does a few nights out a week, and you get the standard £26 whatever for sleeping in the truck.

For that you need to supply a groceries receipt for the night, I think that's a HMRC thing.

If he's "lucky" he occasionally runs out of drivers hours in his home town, so he parks in the council lorry park and walks back to his house 🤐

Evening.

so I’m looking for a bit of advice and wondering if I’m in the wrong.

i have been operating a forwarder for about a year, had my fair share of ups and downs in that time but it’s starting to come together now.

anyway the company I work for is moving me onto a new site 5hours away from home so need to get in digs.

Apparently they don’t pay travel time or night out money because they are coughing up for a hotel according to my manager.

so am I being unreasonable for wanting £25pn for being away or is this just how it is?

what’s the going rate for working away, I feel like they are taking the p”ss

Agree an amount for away work with your employer and inc hotel/B&B costs, then go buy a camper or small caravan. This work is all over the country, nothing worse than living out of a suitcase in a crap hotel or B&B
