You can link an alarm system into something like a smoke emitter. Very effective should they gain entry.

Many high end jewellers have them, so must be acceptable to use.

 

 

Likewise, tempting as it may be to do booby traps they'll be done for the burglary and you'll be done for the injuries (they'll get slap on the wrist you'll get worse).

 

Make it uncomfortable - smoke or mist, loud noise, bright and flashing lights, obvious cameras in tricky locations, and secluded, stronger enclosures and so on but make your yard look too secure it will then become a target (Why is it so secure). Of course false alarms - you'll need a timer on any noise boxes to keep the neighbours happy in the case of false alarms

 

 

Wondering, many go equipped with battery angle grinders to get into sheds... would an inner wall of sleepers work - thicker than angle grinder blade, hidden, can be used on the other side as a back for shelving, can't be knocked through like bricks, the week spots will always be the locks though.

You can get a fire system with heat detectors and a remotely controlled water cannon, would be fun to rig that up to the intruder alarm

Motion sensors are a good shout, they are discreet and fairly accurate. What you do with the knowledge that someone is stealing your stuff is up to you.

My security system picks up any movement outside I get a notification on my phone which I can instantly check the footage.

Thats the kind of system I use. Plus an alarm that notifies me and a separate alarm that is monitor by a 3rd party.

 

It really guts me to have to do and pay for all of the above. Fckin rat scumbag thieves. I know its not ethical but I do sometimes wonder if the hand chopping deterrent would help.

I know it wouldnt as they then cant ever work and can claim more dole, but it would make me feel better and thats all that counts

Also- with regards to the Ajax system. Not only does it work brilliantly, but it’s made in Ukraine so you’re supporting them too. 
 

I’ve just bought another hub/siren and some photo motion sensors to leave on plant parked away from the yard.
