cod are nearly extinct now coz of all the massive trawlers, mammoths are nearly extinct coz of all the hunting

so what difference does it make? We can use the Navy to keep fishing vessels out, but we cant use the air force to suck up Chinas coal smoke. Nothing to be done, except blame everyone else.

In the UK  larger wild fauna was mostly destroyed many centuries ago so now its only the smaller animals or plant left to dissapear so it isn't very noticable when some rare orchid or bumblebee species goes extinct is it?

Environmentalists: what, precisely, do you want us (all) to DO about the crisis/collapse etc?

What do you actually want the population to DO?

What do you want the government to DO?

What do you want "businesses" and "industry" to DO?

Yeah go check the registration of those trawlers, Edward they aren't local people.

It's been going on for years though and yes they were local people.

Lot or crying and the usual ATL pessimism but explain to me how it’s worse now with the cleaner running engines, lack of heavy industry and coal powered power stations, tighter environmental standards etc etc than say 40-50 years ago, and most importantly what’s the solution in the opinion of those forecasting the doom and gloom scenarios.

Go on then, I'm your huckleberry. If you'll permit an answer from anyone outside the notorious AFL cabal.

So, first of all you need to differentiate between Climate Change and Biodiversity Collapse. They are different issues. Interconnected but most definitely different. The things you've listed there will be mainly helping to mitigate the former, they aren't doing much to reverse the latter. As we can see with our very own eyes happening right here in the UK; insect and bird populations have plummeted in the last 40-50 years. If you can recognise the above, then we can discuss the solutions.

Just for clarity seeing as the site auditor is yet again selectively questioning the validity of the source  if it’s from a non ATL member, the figures within the article are from the ONS 🤷‍♂️
