Predictably enough, this is an ongoing point of discussion between my wife and I, and I'd like to know exactly how misguided I am.

Id say, black or dark grey canopy is ok on any vehicle colour. 

Coloured canopy needs to match, looks awful if not.

White canopy pretty much only ok on white truck, might getaway with it on grey or muted colours maybe.

I'd agree with most of that, I think white or off-white could work with a few more things though. 

 

I did annoy her with an advert for a blue truck paired with a separate advert for a red canopy... just need a yellow bonnet and some mismatched doors and we are good to go!

I don’t see how stopping people buying a dcpu on the firm and giving it to the wife as a family car is hitting the normal working man. 
It is closing a tax dodge.
