Looking for advise on a chipper

Hi all as the heading says 

I am taking the plunge in buying a chipper and looking for advice on what a good buy and what to stay away from.  I know different lads will have different opinions but let’s see what everyone has to say

Plus how close you're nearest dealership is, no point buying something when you have zero backup.

 

Whilst they are built like tanks, you don't want to be driving up and down the country when it needs a look at.

Total agree with above, unless you are good with spanners and electrics. 

Buy from dealer will depend on what service you get afterwards, I bought second hand from dealer and service was bad and I refuse to deal with them now even for parts.

Budget. I’m thinking in around 20k  
intended use is anything from the size of your wrist down so maybe a 6” would be ideal.

Yeah this is what I don’t want. I know lads will say this brand is bad for parts or that brands bad for breakdowns. So this is what I’m trying to find

Thats a very healthy budget!

TW230 or GM Evo 165 would be my recommendations

If you are based near overland you won’t go wrong with a schliesing… I’m nowhere near them in fact the other end of the country but would not look at any other make of chipper since running them.. they have always been helpful for parts and they are pretty swift and the machine does every thing I ask and is most importantly reliable and built like tank. 
If you plan on replacing the machine every three years you won’t go wrong with any of the other brands.

A mate has had Schleisings for years, always buys new from Overland, won’t have anything else.

The last one he had was/is a total dog from new and Overland were pretty hopeless - I’d have been a lot less patient than my friend (it should have gone back for a full refund but they had him dragging it up and down the country several times for repairs with no compensation and no offer of a loan machine). 
I’d personally never deal with them after seeing how he was treated (and he still won’t speak badly of them!).

Why avoid the först I had one on hire and didn’t think it was too bad.
