I think in all honesty you have to treat a 'performance' phone with a bit more care.

If you just want to make calls, better stick to a rugged old brute that can take the knocks.

That said, I climb with my iphone, perfect sized pocket in Stretch Airs, wrapped in a dog-s*** bag if its really wet!

Mark: I always have my phone with me too and thought about putting it in a sealable sandwich bag to keep the dust and sweat out.

I saw the spirit level app and pointed out to my mate you can use it to judge how tall a tree is and where the tip is going to land with it :001_smile:

Frank: I could just plump for a cheapo phone, but I can get a decent phone for the money I spend on calls so might as well have all singing and dancing

Plus it's got to be able to play movies too :001_rolleyes:

Saw a vid about the google nexus one phone. They were testing it for robustness (couldnt think of another word!) and it looker very tough imo.

Theres a few nice phones coming out soon ,sony ericsson x10 and HTC Bravo they should be rivalling iphone for tech plus they will have way better cameras.

blackberry in an otterbox for me its the first setup that hasn't been full of sawdust in the first 5 minutes of use.

Having seen how easily an Iphone breaks there is no way I would consider one without an otterbox.

By far the most rugged phone is the Nokia 3720 Classic.

I have used and abused it for 4 months now, and it has been subjected to water and dust.

Sonim outdoor handy realy good !

Is that the very expensive XP3? I had an XP1 and it was C-R-A-P (the software that is; otherwise it was darn near bombproof, even if it did weigh 3lbs!)
