Bloody Good Steaks!

Just got back from a trip to Alicante and the Missus got me to take her to a couple of Trip Advisor rated steak houses. Wow, they were well worthy of their rating too. Not at all cheap but still worthy of the experience and memories created! Templo was the first and I'd echo the comments on TA. Picaro 1999 was the second, also well worth the expense for the food and experience! Both 45 daynand with a great Tempranillo.

Where have you been for a steak that was worthy and memorable?

Gaucho, in Birmingham was pretty damn good.

It was a few years back that my missus treated me to a birthday dinner there, the details escape me now, but I remember being blown away. It was mouth wateringly good.

What I do remember was the size of the steaks. I've got a healthy appetite so was very reluctant to take the waitresses advice and only order a medium and not a large. She was right, I could barely finish it! And melt in the mouth tender. The fresh sausage for starter was excellent too.

The Shack, Fisherman’s Village, Koh Samui, Thailand

I very rarely eat steak but this is one place I always will. All their food is superb and cooked on open coals right in front of you. Not cheap by Thai standards, but less than you’d pay in Europe. Keep meaning to treat myself the the Wagyu “next time” 👍

The paving slab is heated enough to keep it warm while you fetch bits off. It can be still sizzling!  I did ask what it came with and the response in Picaro 1999 was, "chips and small salad if you want them!"
