I honestly think one of those small heaters is going to struggle unless you have it running all day.

Bick is going to take alot of heating and there is nothing in the roof to insulate apart from your collection of " Play girl" magazines.

A 5kw will heat an un insulated double garage no problem, the one you posted is a 5kw rebadged as 8kw, there are very few genuine 8kw heaters about. The genuine 8’s are almost double the physical size of the 5kw heaters.

5kw will be fine Mike.

I’m in here at the minute doing a bit of training / servicing / sort out for tomorrow / drinking, and it’s bearable with the 2kw electric.

And

c) by the time I’d fricked around lighting it and it started giving out decent heat I could have often finished what I’d gone into the workshop to do in the first place.

Tyres don’t light that quickly, even soaked in waste oil and petrol.

10kW pellet stove has a lighter built in and can be made to run off graded wood chip if it is dry.

Tyres light very easily if a bit of petrol is sloshed around the inside, diesel or waste oil just doesn't do the job.

Certainly seems to get them burning well enough when hung on the speed cameras around here!…
