We have some land that we have started an animal rescue farm, but the only trouble is there is a walkway for people to walk there dogs but there us also a large branch which with strong winds is liable to break off at any time and i am worried it could come down on someone walking tgeir dog or fall down on my chickens. I had someone give me a quote for £2,500, which is impossible as we are non profit and live on my partners wages. If anyone in the ilminster/Taunton area can help climb up the tree and chop off the branch for a decent price i would be truly grateful as it could kill all my chickens of it does come dowm. Regards, Sandra

Ridiculous price, just been quoted a quarter of that to remove multiple tall ash stems which will require climbing. Includes chipping brash and leaving logs. Have used this guy before he is professional, running his own business and not short of work. Get some more quotes.

The person quoting you either doesn't want the work or is trying to rip you off surely. I might be wrong, but get someone else to have a look. Most people won't quote from a pic, but if you can put one on here, people will be able to confirm this.

Maybe he's scared of chickens.

I think you are near Ilminster, Somerset. You may find someone on here may be able to help you if someone is relatively close by? £2500 seems extortionate but can't judge without seeing the offending branch.
