I've always picked up SIPs, which are fine. I've got Stein Guardian type A right now, which I wear when it is hot and I am away from the gaze of Our Lord and Arb Saviour Paul Elcoat.

Impressed by the Stein's and the SIPs last well.

Basically anything but arborshite...

PS, forgot to mention the £60 Oregons from Screwfix. They've lasted me three very hot summers and are brilliant.

I think Pfanner arborist are designed for climbing more than the gladiator, that's what I'm in anyway.

Arborshite pro do last a lot better than normal but the price has gone up so much they aren't good value any more in my opinion.

Pfanner's are actually more expensive than the Betheflex pro when you include the discount you can get on arbortec stuff, although I do have Pfanner arborist myself

Yes Pfanners are a bit more, numbers a little hazy but when I bought Arbortec Pros about 4 years ago they were £230 and Pfanners £310, so roughly 2/3 the price and I couldn't justify Pfanners to myself. In fairness the Arbortecs lasted ok with stitching up small tears.

Last time I was buying the Arbortecs had gone up so much they were only about £30 less, I think the Pfanners are worth that small extra, and they've been harder wearing overall.

To be fair there may be lots of other trousers which are great if you have normal length legs, for me if I don't want boots full of sawdust every day the choice is smaller.
