I'm not into battery 🔋 powered chainsaws bro. I've used them before and they are extremely lack luster. Especially doing large Dismantles I do on a daily basis. They absolutely eat through batteries like no tomorrow. But thank you for your input/comment...

Large dismantles on a daily basis and you're looking at an MS151? 😆

Can't blame Dan for suggesting battery saw given your stated models of interest.

Yeah to strip crown out. Then obviously move to larger saw. Ie 462 661 for chogging down. I've used the battery top handles before. And I really don't like them. Fair enough you don't have to manually pull start them. But I just prefer petrol

am i the only one still using a 200 for takedowns and big prunes?

Definitely not. I use the Echo until the timber is too big, then get the 210T into the tree. That said, I can see myself just jumping straight to the MS261 from the Echo, as I find the 201 a bit hard on my slightly arthritic wrists, but the 261 kinder to them, also a bit more power.

2511 with exhausts mod and 1/4 pitch stihl bar and chain for most stuff / small to large takedowns and large reductions, the weight compromise is absolutely crap anti vibes but it’s easy to climb a tree with and swap out to a 550 or 500i when needed.

big take downs and if a bigger top handles needed a t540 would be next choice.

I have a couple of Stihl Ms200t’s still running, both modded by Steve.  A couple of 150t’s with timing advance and exhaust mods, a 194t with exhaust mod.  And a few bigger saws that get used regularly.

The 194t is a great saw.  I use it for most things other than pruning these days.

I did use a leccy Stihl the other day.  220 top handle or something.  2 cuts later and I changed for the 194t.

The whole point to me is to have a light saw for the power.  I pruned with 200t’s for years until the 150 came out.  Surprisingly the wrist issues and tennis elbow disappeared almost at the same time.

The 220 had not enough power and was extra heavy to be worth even considering for me.  Plus my mate used it and the battery lasted one tree.  You could argue sometimes a tree takes a tank of fuel etc, but it is quicker and easier to fill up, plus batteries are expensive.

No worries.

For daily large dismantles the 151 and 2511 would surely not be the ones either? I had assumed this was a light purpose saw.

Edited: I see this has been mentioned already..

How did you mod the 2511 mate? Or did Spud do it?

I hear he's a bit workshy these days 🤣
