Thank you for posting.

It must be humiliating for dealers not to be able to easily diagnose issues with a twin cylinder engine.

Briggs are hiding something even from their own technicians.

Hasnt been to a dealer yet, they are a 2 hr drive away and the Briggs dealer is a 16hr drive away.

Just trying my luck with the local knowledge here.

16 hrs!

You in the outback of Australia or County Kerry?

I wish I had known before buying a machine with a Briggs Efi that dealer support was not only thin in the ground but the domain of comedians, clowns and incompetents.

Sounds like its either running out of fuel or spark.

Take some pictures of the fuel rail and where the spark plug leads all come together at the ECM  (Engine control module) somewhere on that machine there will be a plug for the engine diognostic tool to plug into, take a picture of that because maybe you can use an adaptor to use a tool from a car in order to find out some basic info like fuel pressure.

Failing that take it to a motorbike shop because thats as close to a two cylinder efi engine specialist as your going to get.

You still got that old Merc?

Got to be honest, we do a bit then go to another job, then refer to Vanguard and do something else with it and get a different set of symptoms. Compound that with a right busy department, and a tad short staffed, it hasn't been an easy, quick fix! I think it has had a lot of new components fitted but probably unnecessarily as Raf and Jason still aren't happy and neither is Vanguard!

What about changing the ECU?

That was the only part not changed with mine.

Any number of software updates changed nothing.

It was clearly goosed.
