Some people are time rich and cash poor I’ve been in that position if it works who are we to judge

Of course. If he’s no got two pennies to rub together then his backs up against the wall and he’ll have to bend over and take it without lube.

But if he smart he’ll buy his own unprocessed logs delivered to his door and save himself a huge amount of hassle and wasted energy. Then he can therapy himself to kingdom come .

I does not hurt to see things from a different perspective and if he still really wants to do all this graft for someone else (therapy and call that) then crack on. As I said, he can come get some therapy from me whenever he likes.

Not every one has the large cash reserve that you have, the capital to purchase a load of timber and the space to process are not available to everyone, in this life you have to make the best of what you’ve got, we should applaud anyone prepared to work to better themselves rather than tell them that they should do it another way

And what about the old lady who lost her husband with piles of wood that she can't do anything with and no dry wood for the fire. Or the old farmer who just wants some company whilst he's chopping. Besides that it's also good exercise. And I get outdoors. I don't see how there's a negative in all honesty. Money it's everything shame you've not clicked on yet.

That works as well.

Manual labour = minimum wage. He can slog his guts out for someone else all day long and take eighty quids worth of unprocessed logs.

He can come work for me any time he likes. 🤣

I have a successful business it's not about the money it's about connections and Peoples story's for me. I find my wealth elsewhere.

Great idea Tom, I’ve had these types of deals with guys over the years and still do.

Yesterday my friend was out with his winch and he passed me up a big chain, it was his cousins that he lost over 20 years ago!  It’s a part of him that keeps his memory going!

I hope you manage to find some peace in using your brothers tools doing something he must of loved and involving your son in the process.  There’s so much more to log processing with your family than saving money.

A man with the right idea. Couldn't be more spot on. Thank you some people pray I chop wood. 😂

I am trying to be nice, but the site is mostly about arb types with bills to pay, HMRC don't like in kind or IOU sometime.

If you want to be philanthropic about firewood, nice if you have the time and means but probably best to buy in and sell with very minimal of margins.

I've never met a farmer who would give you firewood in return for chopping it and I am one and surrounded by them.

Best of luck.

It's quite common onr my area actually. Thanks for the advice though. Some of us prefer a trade based economy. And helping someone out.

Great idea Tom! Nice to see someone showing a bit of initiative and not expecting a result to come to them for zero input.

If someone offered to split logs for a share of the production I would be all over it . I burn alot of wood per winter but I have to dump alot too. I would rather see it going to be used, even better used by someone who appreciates it.

Keep asking, someone will take you up on it.
